No Spain, No Gain

The US team is down 2-1 in Davis Cup action against heavily favored Spain. Raphael Nadal outlasted Sam Querry 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in just over 3 hours, while Roddick lost to David Ferrer 7-6 (5), 2-6, 1-6, 6-4, 8-6.

The US team won Saturday's doubles match pitting Mardy Fish and Mike Bryan vs. Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco. To advance, the US needs to win both reverse singles featuring Roddick vs. Nadal and Querry vs. Ferrer on Sunday.

Let's be honest here, we don't stand much of a chance even if James Blake and Bob Bryan were able to compete, but at least the guys hung in there.
